WEEK I & 2 : INTRO TO HCI
INTRODUCTION TO HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION
WEEK 1
First week of school days, at last, we already met Mr. Jayvee Christopher N. Vibar, our professor in Introduction to HCI. He introduced to us the subject which is the Human-Computer Interaction and explained what HCI is and why we should study it.
Our subject is broken down into three parts: the user/human, the computer and the interaction. The user is any individual or group that has interaction with a machine. The computer is a broad term that refers to any piece of technology and lastly the interaction is the design element. I learned that the user interface design is important because it creates fewer problems, increases user improvement and perfects functionality. In the second part of HCI: the computer, Mr. Vibar familiarized us with the different types/parts of computers.
WEEK 2
On the 2nd week of class in HCI, Prof. Vibar continued the discussion of the 3rd part of HCI: the Interaction. He said that the humans and machines are both to get on with each other and interact successfully in order to achieve a usable system. He also mentioned the goal of HCI and it is to produce usable and safe systems, as well as functional systems. Prof. Vibar also tackled about the history of HCI which is already familiar to me.
The discussion is ended in the history of HCI and it will be continued in the next meeting.
